2018 has seen Xiaomi slowly expanding its reach into Europe, with stores in Spain, Italy, and France coming online, and now the Chinese technology company is finally set to launch in the UK. The company has sent out invites to the official launch event in London on November 8th which could see phones such as the Mi 8 and Pocofone F1 unveiled and possibly some of Xiaomi's smart home appliances as well.
While it has always been possible to import Xiaomi devices via third-party retailers, the impending launch of the Chinese tech company in the UK would mean that Xiaomi fans will have access to customer services as well as warranty protection on their devices. For the moment, it's unknown at this point exactly which smartphones and appliances Xiaomi will announce at the November 8th.
Why all the excitement over the Xiaomi launch? Well, the Chinese company sells smartphones such as the Poco F1 (see how it compares to the OnePlus 6 here) and other devices such as the Mi Pad 4 Plus that sport a blend of high-end specifications and an affordable price. If the Pocofone F1 goes on sale in the UK, you can bet that brands such as Honor and OnePlus will come under added pressure ahead of the holiday shopping season.
