For a brief period of time, the “LG ThinQ Google Assistant Smart Speaker With Touchscreen” or LG ThinQ smart display, made an appearance on the B&H website for interested consumers to place pre-orders for the device. The listing has since been taken down indicating its appearance was likely an error. However, if you are interested in a Google Assistant powered smart speaker device from LG, their more traditionally formatted item is available for pre-order.
As far as the LG ThinQ smart display, LG had it on hand for CES 2018 earlier this year as part of an effort to show how they plan to compete in the smart speaker market. More specifically, LG and several others hope to be able to compete with the Amazon Echo for consumers who want the power of a smart speaker melded together with a touch screen. LG has not indicated when the new device will be ready and the B&H did not reveal anything either. However, B&H did have the LG ThinQ smart speaker listed for $296.99.

Since the new LG ThinQ smart display is once again not available, buyers may be interested in the LG WK7 ThinQ Smart Speaker. The WK7 takes a more traditional approach to the smart speaker market being a cylindrical device packing in a bunch of speakers in an attempt to deliver some pleasing sound quality. Priced at $196.99, the WK7 is considerably more expensive than many other devices that are available. B&H does not indicate how long they think it may be for the item to actually ship.
