If you own the Android One edition of the Moto X4, you're getting a late Christmas present as it's now being updated to Android 8.0 Oreo. That also applies to owners of the underrated LG V30, but only if they live in South Korea. Hopefully the V30 update will hit more devices around the globe before 2018. One can hope, right?

The Moto X4 update was confirmed on Reddit and upgrades the phone from Android 7.1 Nougat. The build number will change to OPW27.1 for anyone keeping track. New additions will include notification dots for app icons, support for picture-in-picture and better overall performance.
Android 8.0 Oreo is an over-the-air (OTA) update, so don't worry if it hasn't hit your device just yet. It should be coming soon. Let's hope we see more Android One editions of popular smartphones in the near future. They're similar to the Google Play Edition phones from a few years ago and guarantee timely updates that their skinned counterparts usually can't match.
