Sure, the Essential Phone might be struggling to be legally released in the United States, but that doesn't mean we can't get hyped up over some early camera samples. Some clips from the phone's 360-degree camera have been making their way to Essential's own YouTube channel, so you can check out just what the accessory is capable of before deciding whether or not you actually want to purchase the phone.
Honestly? It's really not, especially in its price range. The audio kind of sucks, but if we're just focusing on the video, the Essential Phone does an excellent job of capturing and stitching together the extremely wide angle shots.
Even during a busy event like a basketball game, the camera manages to capture a great level of detail in all directions.
It's definitely not perfect, but if you're interested in the phone for its 360-degree and virtual reality capabilities, well, we might have a winner. We'll just have to wait and see how everything else pans out.
