Nintendo delays 'Animal Crossing' for Android until April or later 4

Nintendo has a lineup of mobile games arriving this year. One of its next big titles is Fire Emblem: Heroes, set to launch this coming Thursday. The game after that will be Animal Crossing, but it's looking like we won't see that title for a little while yet.

The game was supposed to release this financial year, but now, Nintendo is aiming for the next financial year. In other words, we could see it in April 2017 at the earliest and March 2018 at the latest. It's unfortunate news for those looking to get their hands on the mobile variant of the fabled title.

Other than that, we have yet to hear any details on Animal Crossing for Android.

Nintendo made this news alongside their Q3 earning results. A profit of 64.7 billion yen was reported, which equates to around $569 million. Pokémon Sun and Moon for the Nintendo 3DS was probably one of its most popular titles, selling a whopping 15 million units. Super Mario Marker for the Nintendo 3DS was also quite popular, selling 2 million copies; however, many of us were looking forward to seeing how many people out of the millions that downloaded Super Mario Run paid the full $9.99 price point. Nintendo — unfortunately — didn't divulge any of that information.

If you're looking forward to a Nintendo title to play on Android, keep an eye out for Fire Emblem: Heroes‘ release on Thursday.
