Showing that even the most basic of smartphone functions can continue to benefit from innovation, Truecaller announced today that after just four months their users have reached a major milestone. On a monthly basis, Truecaller users are now making half a billion calls per month with the app. In recognition of the explosive growth for the dialer app, smartphone manufacturer Huawei reached an agreement with Truecaller to pre-install the app on their flagship devices, including the new Honor 8.
In announcing this milestone, Truecaller indicates they think several of their new features helped propel usage to this new level. Some of these include Availability of callers, Caller ID and a smart call history. Truecaller says these options help propel the dialer app from being just a way to make calls to a way to “communicate with each other at the right time and to the right person.”
Truecaller says the rollout of the app on Huawei phones will take place before the end of September. Markets included in the new agreement include North America, the Middle East and North Africa, Southeast Asia and India.
