On Twitter, GIFs have a booming presence. Over 100 million of them were shared in 2015 alone. People just love these little animated pieces of media because of their brief, expressive nature.

Twitter is doing its best to help you find GIFs on the service by allowing you to search tweets and direct messages.

Searching for GIFs on Twitter is as simple as hitting the dedicated GIF button. It activates a menu with various categories, but you can expand upon those choices by using the search bar. Select one and it appears in a draft for you to add text before tweeting out to your followers.

The new feature is live on Twitter for Android, iOS, and web.
