XDA Provides Stable Android ROM On HD2, Ditches Build From SD Card 5

Who can deny that the HTC HD2 is some pretty impressive and sexy hardware for a cell phone?  The only thing that stood out like a  sore thumb was the Windows Mobile 6.5 that is illegally married to it.  Well, the next best thing to do would have been to run over to XDA and grab yourself a nice stable “build” that could be run off of your SD card.  Meaning?  Meaning, that you have to load up WinMo first, then run the build from your sd card.  Well, once again, XDA provides an escape from the daunting wait for Windows Mobile to boot up first.  Hit the break for more info and to check out the video of the install process in action.

Thanks to those rocket surgeons at XDA, they have come up with a new and stable ROM that can be flashed directly on to the NAND memory, allowing one to boot directly into Android and disregard the Windows boot up process entirely.  As for the standard warning, this is definitely not for newcomers.  So, try to make sure you know what you're doing or get someone who is more experienced to help you out.  And as always, do this at your own risk.  Talk Android is not responsible for anything that happens to your phone as a result.  Head on over to XDA via the source link and let us know how well this works out for you.

  1. This android OS has literally revolutionized my HD2. I can’t believe how fast it is now. The amount of features the phone has is stunning. I don’t know how they’ve even gotten this far with that ridiculous Windows OS. What a piece of garbage.
