Some new images have leaked that show the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge sitting next to each other. Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the images is the configuration of the curved screen of the Galaxy S6 Edge. As previously suspected, the curved screen of the Galaxy S6 Edge appears to exist on both sides of the device unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Edge which had a curved screen on only one side.

In looking at the screen display, the impression is that the curved edges have provided Samsung with the ability to produce a bevel-less display. The curved portion of the display as shown is an extension of the main display, so it is unclear how Samsung plans to use the additional space. The leaked image also shows Samsung had to get creative with the power and volume buttons since they seem to be missing, so that will be a detail to look for when the devices are officially unveiled.

  1. I wasn’t a big fan of the Note Edge, in fact, I thought it was just ugly. But looking at the new S6 Edge, I’m utterly amazed at how beautiful that phone is. The way the screen wraps around is just what I always imagined a phone should look like. Honestly, it makes the regular S6 look like it’s a dinosaur and really it’s an amazing phone as well. My prediction is that the S6 Edge will make the same impact on the way mobile devices look just as the Note did in regards to bigger screens. I’m sure 4 years from now, the new iPhone will have the same look and it will be “revolutionary”. Kudos to Samsung, I think you might be back in the game!!
