One day, we might all be wearing some sort of smart glasses such as Google Glass, the Galaxy Glass, and/or something else. I don't know about you, but I don't want to sit and listen to a bunch of people dictating their emails and text messages, so what's the solution? You can whip out your phone, but that might be too tiring for some people. What if you could just type in the air with your fingers?

Well, Samsung might have a solution for that. A recent patent application shows an augmented reality keyboard that could be used in their version of Glass, which I presume would be called Galaxy Glass or Gear Glass. The patent is titled Input Method and Apparatus of Portable Device was submitted at the World Intellectual Property (WIPO), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), and the U.S Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

As you can see in the picture above, different keys of the keyboard are assigned to different parts of the hand via the camera. The user will then use their thumb to press on the projected letters.

Seems interesting, but then again, something like this might never come to fruition. Patent offices have listings for all sorts of patents that never materialized.
