If you are looking for a new 7-inch tablet device and want to consider something other than the Nexus 7, Huawei is hoping they can entice you with their new MediaPad X1 tablet. According to a teaser video the company released, the new tablet is one of several devices that Huawei will announce at MWC 2014 next week. Leading up to that event though, some press renders and detailed specifications surfaced on the TENAA site, the Chinese version of the FCC. Hit the break for more details and images.
According to the information available on the TENAA site, the MediaPad X1 will come equipped with a 7-inch TFT display running at 1920×1200 resolution, a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. The manufacturer of the chipset is not specified, but it could be one of Huawei's in house developed chips. The device also comes equipped with a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front-facing unit. Apparently the device will also support calls on GSM networks. The device will apparently ship with Android 4.2.2 installed.
No information about pricing or intended markets for the MediaPad X1. We will look for more information to surface next week at MWC 2014. Until then, check out some more images below and Huawei's teaser video.
