While North America has had the EVO 4G for a while now, Europe has been waiting for their next big phone to be announced. Well the wait is over. This morning HTC held a press event in London where they announced two new HTC phones to the European markets, the most exciting of which is the Desire HD (seen above).

Here are the specifications you can expect from this phone:

  • 4.3″ LCD Touch Screen
  • 1GHz 8255 Snapdragon Processor
  • Solid block aluminum casing
  • 8 Megapixel camera with dual-LED flash
  • 720p video recording
  • HSPA+ data

As well as the HD, HTC also announced the Desire Z, which will be a rebranded version of North American T-Mobile G2.

We have covered this phone a fair bit recently here at TA.com. Last week T-Mobile announced a North American release for the handset with them. This phone is significantly less powerful than the Desire HD, but it does boast a 4 row QWERTY keyboard.

Here are a few of the specs you can expect from the Desire Z:

  • 3.7″ Touch Screen
  • 800 MHz Processor
  • 4 Row QWERTY keyboard.
  • 5 Megapixel camera with single flash.

All in all, it has been a very busy morning regarding announcements from HTC. These two phones will be a welcome addition to the European markets for HTC fans.

  1. Yeah, except Z is using a next-gen Snapdragon — Theoretically as powerful as Samsung’s Hummingbird, at least graphically. Expect for more battery life too, seeing as Z is targeted for business users…

    Just my 2 cents…
