Today's free Amazon app is a little different than what we usually see on a daily basis. What you get today, is a free interactive children's book in app form, and given the today's holiday, The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin, is quite fitting.
This bookapp, as I will refer to it, was written by Joe Troiano and illustrated by Susan Banta and tells the tale of Spookley, a square pumpkin living in a round world. Throughout the story, Spookley, deals with harsh peers and is shunned because of his shape. This bookapp delivers a special message of tolerance and self-acceptance that's just right for Halloween or any day of the year.
This bookapp features professional narration and sounds that accompany easy to see artwork for each page. Kids have the option of reading themselves or can use the narration feature to aid in learning. An auto play feature is included with full narration and automated page turns for those little tykes who've yet learned to read. Pages turn like a real book and the bookapp promises to make the “classic story come alive, providing hours of entertainment for all ages”.
