Samsung TV Remote App Released For Galaxy S And Tab Devices, Available For Download In The Market

Samsung announced that they have released their TV remote app for both the Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab devices.  The remote sports pretty much all of the functionality you would see on a standard remote, only with a sleek and sharp looking UI.  As of now, the application is not available for any other device, hence the reason it will not appear for you if you search for it in the market.  In addition, we are told that there will not be an apk around the interwebs for you to sniff out.  Who knows, maybe our boys over at XDA can take care of that.

The remote application allows you to control several of Samsung’s WiFi enabled televisions, all seamlessly from your device.  So, if you’ve just purchased one of Samsung’s TV’s and you’re sporting a Galaxy S or a Tab, then head on over to the market for the download and don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below.

Excuse me, I’ve been using this app on my iPad for months now. Please do better research.

Thank you Steven for clarifying. However, this is an Android blog, and the app was just released for Samsung Android devices. This is why we are covering it.

I wish that Samsung had used the development time to put Froyo on the Galaxy S (Fascinate) instead of this app. Come on Samsung – you can do better than this!

@ Steven, Joe is right. This article is just covering the android market and Android phones. I really like the way they laid out this app. It looks sleek and the metal finish look on screen is definitely classy. I subscribe to Dish Network and I’m also an employee and I have been playing around with a few different apps on my EVO4G. Dish recently came out with the Sling Adapter that allows you to stream media to your mobile device and I always have people asking how I’m doing it. It’d definitely worth taking a look at if you’re a TV and Android fan like me.
