Google Glass Prescriptions

According to a report published in The New York Times earlier today, Google Glass will face a major design overhaul as part of a new set of plans outlined by Nest CEO and recently-appointed project leader of Glass, Tony Fadell.

Several people “with knowledge of Mr. Fadell's plans” told the newspaper that he intends to create his version of Google Glass “from scratch”, without carrying any features across from the original. It will be completely unique.

Its unlikely that there will be an Explorer version of Fadell's device. According to one of his advisor's, “Tony is a product guy and he's not going to release something until it's perfect.”

It appears the team in charge of the unit at Google X back in 2012 were not too keen on revealing the device at that time, but Google co-founder Sergey Brin made an executive decision to announce Google Glass to the Public, in order to get their feedback on its design. Now it would seem Glass 2 will be ready when it's ready, and all members of the public who wish to purchase it will be able to do so at the same time via the Play Store.
