Ever since its creation, Spotify has been on the rise. Currently the music streaming service has 20 million active users around the world, and 6 million of those are paying subscribers. Spotify has a free music streaming service in place for desktop and laptop computers, but it seems as though the Swedish streaming company will be releasing a similar service for mobile devices in the near future.

The service will be ad-based, and will allow non-paying users to listen to a limited number of songs on demand. It will also play music based on the user's input, similar to Internet radio services like Pandora. Up until now, Spotify has been charging users to stream music on their mobile devices as part of the Spotify Premium service.
