If you’re the kind of person who has a short attention span, Android devices are your best friend. Even though Sony unveiled their high-end Xperia Z just last week at CES, we’ve already got a new device to watch for. Some specs have leaked about the tablet counterpart to the flagship device, appropriately titled the Xperia Tablet Z, and it’s pretty much identical to the phone, except for the 10.1 inch screen. It’s got the same 1080p resolution screen, quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, and, surprisingly, the waterproof and dust proof specifications. It’s also packing LTE, NFC, Android 4.1, and a 6,000 mAh battery, all in a 6.9 mm shell. If those specs turn out to be more than just rumors, that’s a pretty impressive tablet.
I think this would be a smart move for Sony. They’re slipping up in sales lately, so bringing two high-end devices to market to grab up some market share is exactly the kind of strategy they need. And after seeing the awesome interconnected media they were showing off at CES, pairing a tablet with the Xperia Z could lead to some really cool stuff.
