ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity Jelly Bean update delayed, should arrive ‘early next week’

Owners of the ASUS Transformer Prime are already enjoying the sweet taste of Jelly Bean, but a new development has caused the update for the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity to be delayed. In a forum post on XDA-Developers, ASUS Technical Marketing Manager Gary Key explained that the company had run into a few technical problems with the keyboard when accessing the recently updated Facebook application.

“For those users in the US and Canada, the 10.4.4.16 Release should be available early next week. A couple of applications that were recently updated (Facebook 1.9.10 on 9/20 as one example) required a last minute firmware update for the keyboard to operate correctly in the “Comment” area with Android 4.1. Sorry about the slight delay but this fix needed to be implemented before release.”

As usual, ASUS has provided its user base with insight, complete with a legitimate reason and a new time frame. So, while we may have to wait a few extra days, at least we know the company will be rolling out fully-functioning firmware.
