Rogers Communications in Canada announced via their RedBoard blog today that they are getting ready to light up more locations throughout Canada with LTE service. Rogers has plans to cover 60% of the Canadian population with LTE service before the end of 2012. In a step to reaching that goal, Rogers plans to launch the service in the following locations no later than October 1st:

  • Kingston
  • Edmonton
  • Quebec City
  • Oakville
  • Burlington
  • London
  • Kitchener
  • Waterloo
  • Cambridge
  • Barrie

Rogers indicates that most customers experience speeds ranging from 12 to 40 Mbps on their LTE network, which offers a maximum theoretical speed of up to 100 Mbps. They claim they offer the largest selection of LTE devices in Canada and more will be added to their lineup.
