Soak test starting for U.S. Motorola XOOM WiFi, Jelly Bean incoming

We already knew that the Motorola XOOM will be receiving Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean sooner rather than later so it’s no surprise soak testing is about to begin. Motorola just sent out emails to Motorola forum members that own the XOOM WiFI inviting them to test an upcoming update. Although we can’t say with 100% certainty that this upcoming soak test is indeed Jelly Bean, I think it’s safe to assume that it is.

Thanks for joining the Motorola Feedback Network. We would like to invite to you take part in a software test for owners of the U.S. Wi-Fi Xoom. If you are not using a U.S. Wi-Fi Xoom, please excuse and ignore this message.

If you’re interested in testing new software and providing feedback about your experience, please fill out this short registration form:https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=s8wLrWAR2ZbnUuF0A9SnDA_3d_3d

We recommend you respond as quickly as possible as start times are generally fluid. Please be patient if we don’t contact you right away — and be prepared for a launch at any time.

When we’re ready to begin we will send an email with more information, if you register successfully.

Assuming everything goes well, all users should see the update by the end of the week or next week at the latest!!

Cheers Mark and Ted

Meanwhile over in the UK we are still waiting for our Ice Cream Sandwich update. Shame really as the XOOM is a really nice piece of hardware but whoever is handling our software updates clearly couldn’t even organise a piss up in a brewery.
