Mobile-Review.com have revealed some new information on an upcoming Android phone from Samsung, codenamed the Samsung Bigfoot.

We've seen the codename 'Bigfoot' crop up in a lot of roadmaps and leaked reports recently, and it seems highly likely that the Samsung Bigfoot will indeed be the T-Mobile G1 v2.

Here's the technical specification for the Samsung Bigfoot:

The handset is expected to launch in Q3 and will be powered by a new version of the Android platform, codenamed Donut. According to the information from Mobile-Review, the Android 2.0 Donut update will be a significant update in comparison to previous versions 1.0 and 1.5 Cupcake updates.

It appears however that not all phones running earlier versions of the platform will be automatically upgraded from the Cupcake update to Donut, instead that decision will be left to the specific operator/vendor.

Currently very little information is known about Android 2.0 Donut and the features it will include, but it is mentioned that the update will bring support for WVGA displays and will be included on the upcomng phones from Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Acer and other OHA manufacturers.
