On Android devices, your phone's volume and your Bluetooth headphones or earbuds' volume are synchronized by default. This is called absolute volume. There are some cautions to consider. If your headphones or headset can reach high volumes, turning them up on both the phone and the device could expose you to sound levels above what’s recommended for safe listening. Finally, Android updates can sometimes change how the volume system works. If you notice that your Bluetooth headphones seem quieter after a system update, disabling absolute volume might restore your control over both volume sliders and resolve the issue.
