One UI 4.1

Flagship smartphones tend to be first in line when it comes to software updates but Samsung isn't slacking on its responsibilities to its cheaper handsets such as the Galaxy A-22 5G. Indeed, the Korean company has begun rolling out the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 update to the Galaxy A22 5G, the Galaxy A21s, the Galaxy A03s, and the Galaxy A02s.

The 5G variant of the Galaxy A22 will be bumped up to build version A226BXXU4BVF7, with units in Thailand and Malaysia being the first to experience the OS upgrade before it rolls out to other regions.

Galaxy A21s users in Russia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong are the first to get the One UI 4.1 update although it should roll out to other locations in a matter of days.

The Galaxy A03s and Galaxy A02s are being updated to One UI Core 4.1, which is a trimmed down version of Samsung's custom overlay which aims to provide a speedy experience even on lower-specced smartphones. The update is rolling out in Asian countries initially before being expanded to other regions.

The updates all feature the June 2022 security patch, and bump the devices up from Android 11 to Android 12 since none of the devices listed above were updated to One UI 4. The One UI 4.1 update is rolling out incrementally, so it may be a few days or even a week or two before your phone notifies you that it's ready to download and install.
