Switch to Android

Apple's “Move to iOS” app has been around for years but Google hasn't responded with an app for iOS users to switch to Android, relying instead on the likes of Samsung whose Smart Switch is integrated into its One UI software. Until now, that is. Google has quietly taken the wraps off its Switch to Android app on Apple's App Store which will make switching from iOS to Android easier than ever before.

Despite the importance of the new app, there has been little effort on Google's part to publicize the Switch to Android app and there isn't even a mention of it on the corresponding website. You'll need a direct link to the Switch to Android app on the App Store in order to download it to your iOS device.

Once you have managed to install the app, you'll be able to export your contacts, photos, calendars, and videos to an Android device, with video and photos being imported directly into Google Photos. The app will also show you how to turn off iMessage so you don't miss any text messages from friends and family.
