Samsung adds support for hole-punch camera notifications on the Galaxy S10 through Good Lock 4

There are several third-party options for customizing and tweaking your Galaxy S10's hole-punch camera, including some apps that add notification lights and rings around the camera. It's a really cool feature, especially since the phone doesn't have a traditional notification LED light anymore.

Apparently Samsung thought it was a pretty cool feature, too, since they've worked it into the latest Good Lock update.

Good Lock, in case you've forgotten, is a separate UI overhaul that Samsung offers that will add some extra features to your phone with a different interface. It's a good place for Samsung to test drive other features, almost like a safer and easier way to beta test things for Galaxy users.

This update brings an EdgeLighting+ plugin that will allow users to customize their edge lighting to include the camera cutout on the front of the device, which will then light up for notifications. There are some limitations, but for the most part this can replicate what some of those third-party apps were trying to accomplish.

As long as the screen is on you'll see all of your notifications glowing on your front camera. While the display is off, though, you're a little more limited. You'll only see stock app notifications, so things like incoming calls and texts.

Hopefully Samsung can touch that up in the future, but in the meantime, it's a pretty nifty feature to add some more pizazz to your Galaxy S10.
