We have great news this morning for all of the people who own either Sony's Xperia Z3v or Xperia Z2 Tablet from Verizon. Last night, the carrier started pushing out a software update to both devices that includes a new version of Android.

While it's not the latest version, owners of the Xperia Z3v and Xperia Z2 Tablet should be somewhat happy that their devices are getting Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The software update also brings with it Android security patches and small improvements throughout the user interface.

It's doubtful either device will ever get to jump to Android 6.o Marshmallow, so owners of the Xperia Z3v and Xperia Z2 Tablet should take what they can get now and assume this is it. Maybe they'll get to purchase newer Sony devices in the United States later this year.
