Just when I was complaining about not enough Chromecast apps as compared to the Fire TV, along comes a couple of new ones. Google just announced that both NPR One and WatchABC are ready for casting. Both apps give you ability to watch on demand programs around the clock.

With the NPR One app, you can enjoy various programs such as Morning Edition, Snap Judgement, and Wait Wait….Don't Tell Me!

With WatchABC, you can watch just about any favorite ABC show like Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Dancing with the Stars. However, you will need to sign in with a participating TV provider account which include, AT&T U-verse, BEK TV, Charter, Comcast XFINITY, Cox, DISH, Google Fiber, Midcontinent Communications, Optimum, Yadtel, and Verizon FiOS.

  1. DirecTV charge monthly for extra boxes per room. If they allowed Chromecast, they would be losing money because you could just push to any TV without a box.
