With their new gaming console being released on Friday, Sony has released a brand new PlayStation app in the Play Store. The app's interface is nearly identical to that of the PlayStation 4 with its blue background and transparent boxes with content. And rightfully so, there is a ton of content to be toyed with. Hit the break for details and download links.

You can view other players' profiles to view their activity and what trophies they have obtained thus far. You can even communicate with friends and receive notifications while away from the console. Interested in picking up a game, movie, or more from your device? The app allows you to access the PlayStation Store remotely to make purchases. Second-screen capability is possible with compatible games. Using the new PlayStation app also gives access to guides, manuals, and the official PlayStation.Blog.
