Depending on your phone, rooting can be a daunting task (as an early Incredible owner, I can attest to this). If you own a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, or X10 mini, and have been weary of attempting to root your phone, this may be an incentive for you to try.  All you need to do is install the UniversalAndroot apk and click the root button which appears on the screen when you run the application.  That’s all there is to it!  There is even an unroot button if you decide the newfound power is too much for you to handle.  Some of the benefits of rooting include the use of Titanium Backup, as well as free Wifi tethering (which can be found in the Android Market).
