Dutch Court Denies Apple’s Appeal and Allows Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Sales To Flourish

Man, I hate Apple.  Did I type that out loud?  Sorry about that folks, there’s just something about a company who sues everything with a heartbeat because they’ve produced a slate device in the shape of a rectangle, has a touch screen, a power button and allows you to swipe things.  It’s just downright getting annoying now.  Well, it’s nice to see that a court in Hague has stuck it to Apple as they denied their request to ban the tab 10.1 in the Netherlands.  The folks over at NU.nl have reported that late last year another Dutch court ruled similarly in which the Cupertino boys quickly appealed with the ridiculous notion that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab was too similar to the iPad 2.  Today, the Hague court quickly determined that Apple had no leg to stand on here and that the two devices exhibited plenty of differences to compete in the market together.  Stay tuned because as you know, the legal battle isn’t over.  This is but one patent dispute among many between the two industry giants.  However, today, Samsung gets to claim the small but righteous victory.  Any thoughts?  Feel free to plug away in the comments below.

    Hehehe!

I hate them too and I have absolutely no problem in saying this out loud…

Here it comes again: I HATE FREKN APPLE!

By the way, I was hard-core Apple user for almost a decade and only few months ago I switched back to PC and Android – thanks lord for that!

There is no way I am supporting this arsehole of a company with my money – not any more!

Man, I hate people don’t being objective. Did I type that out loud?

Put an iPad and a Galaxy Tab next to each other, look at the charger, the cable, the device. If you still say it’s only about rectangle/touch screen/power button – you have no idea, really.

I do not like everything about Apple, but man, try to be a little bit more objective.

So, what happens when you turn both devices on? Bingo ….two VERY different devices.
Why are these idiots so hell bent on comparing LOOKS rather than what it is and how it works ?
What’s next, Apple suing PC makers for having LCD screens and trackpads?

You are right, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is lighter, more powerful than the iPad 2.
And the iPad 2 looks like a digital watch from the 1970′s, Casio should sue, it has a black glass bevel and a brushed aluminium frame.

Not being objective enough for you? So aside from the software, what’s the big difference from the iPad and every other tablet out there? You’re telling me the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the only device in the world that resembles an iPad? If your logic is correct then every cell phone manufacturer needs to sue one another because every cell phone out there resembles an iPhone. They all have charging ports, they’re all mostly rectangular, they all mostly have glass/capacitive touch displays and of course don’t forget about the volume rockers too. So why isn’t Apple suing anyone else? Ill give you a hint, none of them are as successful as Samsung. And little ol Apple feels they are responsible for their success for some crazy odd reason.

Put them next to each other and compare the backside. oh wait, it sAta Samsung. take a look at the front, it has no physical button. one is wide screen and higher resolution.

so aides from the color, and the fact that all tablets are rectangular… what’s the same about them again?

Whether you like one tech company over another doesn’t really make a difference in most of these lawsuits.  The only folks that really profit from the suits are the LAWYERS.  Each of these suits costs millions to try and no matter who wins or loses, we the consumers are the ones footing the bill.  The companies involved in these disputes have to pay for them, and the way they do that is by increasing the price of their products.  The companies that fight also lose a bit of ground in the public opinion market as well.  And to top it all off, every time a company wants to bring something to the market that is similar to what another company is selling, the LAWYERS, again, have to be involved to determine if a suit is likely.  Bottom line is that today’s cost of business is getting pretty expensive due to our antiquated patent system.  I don’t know how to make it better, but it is obvious that it is not working as it should be.
