BLU Studio 5.3 Smartphone Now Available For $259.99

So you want a Galaxy Note, but you’re on a budget price? You’re in luck because BLU Studio has heard your cries and has brought a fairly intriguing phone to the market. They’ve introduced a 5.3-inch phone with some modest features including:

  • a 5.3-inch capacative touch display with 800 x 480 resolution
  • single-core 800MHz processor
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 8GB of internal storage
  • 5MP rear camera and VGA front-facing camera
  • Gingerbread 2.3

These are humble specs to be sure, but there is a huge bonus. The phone will include an impressive 2500mAh battery which should more than provide ample juice to users daily. Also of note, the phone is GSM unlocked— meaning it supports the ability to run in dual-SIM card mode. You can find the BLU Studio 5.3 will run you $259.99 with free shipping. Not too shabby of a price I say.

    Looks like a fairly decent phone for the money. Specs aren’t amazing but that battery! In fact, would make a nice second phone for use as a portable media device freeing the battery on a main phone. Any link to Blu’s website? All I find when searching for Blu Studio is a photography company in Canada!

    Received this phone on Friday. Good phone with a nice rubbery soft plastic back. LIke the lock screen button next to the volume which keeps orientation locked.  Screen is crisp but when you hold it in landscape mode you can make the screen wash out by bringing the earpiece side closer to you.  Oh. and the audio is AWFUL.  I hear a thumping sound when I play it at any decent volume.  Debating sending it back for this reason. But for the price the phone is awesome. Just trying to figure out what to do about this audio. And yes, battery life is awesome. Last night i plugged it in after 16 hours (heavy use) and I still had 48 percent battery life remaining.

        Yes. Android Market is on  there. I also loaded on the Amazon marketplace.

        Oh, and using the E-reader apps (Kindle and Nook) is an absolute delight. No screen protectors but a quick visit to my shopping mall’s Zagg booth fixed that. The kids there custom cut one for me in 10 minutes. Covers all but the a few millimeters at the top and bottom.

    I had the phone for more than a week now, tried all features and apps. It works well to my standard. Except having some slight problem with What’sapp, giving error when scroll to look for contacts. The phone is great for it value, at least it is good enough for me. I LOVE the big screen, it makes reading emails and news much easier for me. The resolution of the display is pretty good, gives out clear and bright screen. The pictures taken are crisp too. The speaker is loud and decent, although does have some over power effect on it. Battery life is awesome. Now, having difficulty to find a cover for it. Might use the Samsung Galaxy Note’s cover temporary.
