HTC sure does like to crank out a lot of hardware. The HTC Desire HD had cropped up (under the name HTC Ace) on a UK retailer roadmap earlier this month. Now some specifications for the device are doing the rounds in the lead up to the supposed October 2010 release. Source of the information, superetrader quotes the specs as follows:
- 4.3 inch WVGA Touch Screen
- 8 Mega Pixel Camera
- 1 GHZ Qualcomm Processor
- Android 2.2 OS
- HD 720p Video Capture
- Xvid Video Playback
- SRS Surround Sound
- Automatic Face Tracking
- Adobe Flash 10 Support
- 4GB Internal Memory (up to 32GB)
- E-book Reader Feature
- Uni-Body Aluminium Design
As you would expect from a phone still a couple of months out, android 2.2 will be loaded as standard and the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor finds itself a home in another product. There isn’t anything there that looks ground breaking (that “uni-body” design could be interesting), but you can’t begrudge HTC for giving us plenty of options (well, unless you are stuck on a long contract with an earlier phone.. then you might be a little miffed). There isn’t any word on which carriers might be offering the Desire HD, but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we find out. No leaked pictures yet either, so we won’t confuse you by posting any of the current Desire.
