Sprint announces the LG Marquee today, also known as the LG Optimus Black, that's set to be released on October 2nd. The Marquee will have a 4-inch 480 x 800 (WVGA) NOVA Display that's supposed to have better indoor and outdoor visibility along with reduced power consumption compared to conventional LCDs. Loaded with Android 2.3 and a 1GHz processor it also has 5MP rear and a 2MP front cameras, Swype built in, Sprint ID, WiFi, GPS, bluetooth, 2GB included microSD expandable to 32GB, 512MG RAM, 2GB ROM, and a 1500 mAh battery.

You can catch it on pre-sale that will run for one week starting Sept. 20th. Anyone who purchases the Marquee on pre-order will also start to receive their devices a little early starting Sept. 29th. The price will be set at $99 on contract with a $50 mail-in rebate to boot. Another note in the press release is that this device will be launched at MADE Fashion week in NYC. Stacy London from TLC's What Not To Wear show will act as a mentor to five MADE designers as they create chic style carrying cases for the Marquee. Interesting marketing, but odd at the same time. What do you all think about that one? You can check out the full press release via the source link.
