Among the many booths at CES to bring us innovative products this year, was Monsoon Multimedia, a company that provides a number of video products for mobile and non mobile devices.  Monsoon revealed, at their CES demo presentation, a sling box alternative which will allow you to push your home’s content directly onto your mobile device.  What sets the technology apart from it’s competitors, like Slingbox and Roku, are the extra added features that come with their “Blast” option.  Two options are offered with the service.  Hit the break to learn about the options and to check out the video demo from CES in action.

The “Flow” option is nothing more than a simple push of your content to the device and runs you $99 bucks.  Blast on the other hand, goes for $199 and adds mobile video recording, YouTube and other web videos, DVR functionality, scheduled recordings and DLNA support for pushing media from your phone back to the in house box.  In addition, the app for your phone is only going to run you $9.00, unlike the competition’s $30.00 per device.  The box for the Blast comes with 160 gigs of internal memory.  Think you’ll ditch your Slingbox for one of Monsoon’s Vulkano packages?  Let us know what you think in the comments below.

The vulkano platinum already does this and I got mine for 99 dollars at Christmas. The player is also free for all devices. I am confused about why this is any different. Cause it’s not. They need Focus on a Linux player instead of repackaging the same product. This will expand there market much fast than the continual release of new hardware.
