HTC Hiring To Build Its Own App Store

HTC has posted job openings around the internet looking for various positions in their US office that paint an interesting picture. They have postings both on the career page of their website, and also at careerbuilder.com What position are they hiring for? They are looking for a “Senior E-Commerce Manager” and an “Online Merchandising Manager,” among others. What could they be working on? One of the more convincing theories is their own app store.

We had heard that an HTC app store might be making an appearance soon, so we had reason to suspect that HTC would be working toward something like this. Some of the job requirements are “smartphone apps store management” and “solid understanding of online store development and operation process.” Are you coming to the same conclusion that the rest of us are? Only time will tell for sure, but we think that HTC is preparing to launch their own app store.
