Sony has been infamous for announcing a product, only to have us wait months for it to it the market. This time around, Sony may be learning that consumers can loose interest much faster than before, especially in the mobile hardware market.
The next wave of Sony Ericsson smartphones to add to the Xperia family appears to be caught on camera. It’s called the Xperia X12, codenamed ANZU (meaning a lesser god of Akkadian mythology) . The ANZU is currently seen running Android 2.1, but sources say this will be launching with Android 2.3 installed.
A tipster has said that the ANZU feels “very solid” with “very crisp” and “vivid colors” on the display. It’s rumored to have a 4.3 inch screen, with 1080 resolution, and as you can see in the photo, it’s got “HD” on the back by the camera, which would mean it’s likely shooting 1080p HD video. It’s got a front facing camera as well as HDMI output, but we don’t know any more specs on it currently.

Looks like a nice, thin handset though! We’ll keep you posted as more comes out.
