While the Google Camera app was only just released to the Play Store under a month ago, it seems like it’s already being updated. Upon its release it was highly regarded by many, with a number of great effects.

The update adds one important feature that a number of people were sad to lose in making the transition from other camera apps – the ability to take photos while recording video. With the new update to Google Camera 2.1.042, that feature has returned. The update is rolling out in stages, and as such the Play Store listing has not been updated to reflect the new app. You can download the APK from XDA-developers here, or you can hit the break for the Play Store download link to the not-yet-updated version.
