Just like any manufacturer, Motorola already has devices in the works for the next couple of years. With the Lenovo purchase, many of you are probably wondering if things will change? The early word is no, and we know that at least for now, the lineup will remain intact through 2015. The only thing that could change is that one of Lenovo's China plants could be added for production.

For 2015, Motorola plans on launching a 6-inch phablet (could be called the Xplay) and a smartwatch.

What about this year? Unfortunately the leaker didn't offer any details as to what they will be releasing, but obviously Lenovo isn't going to change the plan because it would be way too costly. Will there be a revamped Moto X and Moto G? Hopefully, but we don't know for sure.

This is good news, but I am a little disappointed that Motorola won't have a smartwatch ready for this year.

  1. That’s actually a bit disappointing to me. I didn’t expect them to make any changes in 2014 but I was hoping that they’d be planning a real competitor for the Galaxy S6 in 2015.

I’ve said this before but I’m really not comfortable having only one viable option for handset manufacturers but as long as Samsung is the only company making flagship phones with the features I need (specifically expandable storage and a replaceable battery) they will continue to get my business.
