Last week we saw a rumor that Sony's newest device, codenamed “Sirius”, could debut at MWC this year, and be coming to Verizon later this year. More information has come out suggesting that the device will be the Xperia Z2 and has all but officially confirmed the rumor that we'll see it at MWC. It was rumored to be under the codename “Avatar” but a reliable source says that's not the case. The phone will boast some amazing specs as well.
It will feature the quad-core Snapdragon 800, a 5.2 inch 2,560×1,440 pixel (Quad HD, QHD, or 2k) display, 3GB of RAM, a 20.7MP camera, and a 3,700mAh battery. It will come with the water and dust protection expected with Sony hardware and it will have KitKat on board. It will also have the Mobile Bravia Engine 3 with improved X-Reality. The rumor about it coming to Verizon, has yet to be confirmed. We're a little over a month away from Mobile World Congress, and it's safe to say we'll know more then.

Looks impressive. Sad that the soft keys are still on the screen.
dont expect. this is not sumsung!
I think Sony makes beautiful handsets and would love to see them take it to the next level by reducing those ridiculous bezels that continue to plague their handsets. I mean WTF Sony? You don’t have front facing speakers like the HTC ONE does, neither do you use capacitive hardware keys, so why are you wasting hardware space, especially at the top and bottom of your phones? On another note, kudos on the Z1compact specs.
think 3000mA battery + the 1/2.3″ Sensor size + the waterproof body … those 3 need a space right ! Actually its just AMAZING how they squeezed a sensor this large without a hump. Just for Comparison ALL low end digital cameras + MOST of mid range digital stand alone cameras have this Sensor Size.
