Google Barge

Rumors about Google's barge in the San Francisco Bay have been swirling for the past month, adding to the speculation that the search giant will be using the massive floating structure as a showroom of sorts for Google Glass or a number of any other new Google products.

However, new information states that the barge's construction will not be complete until well into 2014, mainly because the Coast Guard had to inspect the barge and ended up actually requesting a change to the interior of the vessel.

Daniel Terdiman of CNET said that simultaneously, the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission is considering whether it will “require Google to obtain a permit if it wants to continue construction at the Treasure Island site.”

It is a bit concerning, however, that Google didn't look into these possible delays before they recently came up. Stay tuned for more.
