The NFL's 100th season is winding to a close with the Super Bowl just a couple weeks away. The playoffs are in full swing, so now's the time to get your Super Bowl party prepped and ready to go. Looking for a way to stream Super Bowl LIV? We'll show you how.
Check back here for all of the details you'll need for the game, including when it starts, who's playing, and how you can stream it on your smartphone, tablet, computer, or TV.
When and where
Super Bowl LIV will be played on Sunday February 2nd, 2020 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. The game officially kicks off at 6:30 EST, and Fox will be handling broadcasting, with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman handling game commentary.
The NFL has more info if you're planning on attending the game in person.
How to watch
Planning on watching from home or on the go? Here's the best way to watch no matter where you are.
These apps and services are all available in the US, but if you're still interested in the game in another country you can use a VPN to get around some of the content restrictions and still stream Super Bowl LIV for free.
Android and iOS smartphones and tablets
Planning on watching the game from your smartphone? This year's going to be easy, since Fox will be streaming everything directly from their app for free. The app is available on both the Play Store and App Store, so whether you're watching on an Android or iPhone, you should be able to download the app and bring up the stream for kickoff.
This also works for tablets, too. Just use the same store for your Android tablets or iPad and fire up that stream.
Smart TVs and streaming devices
There's nothing wrong with streaming the big game on your smartphone or tablet, but everyone knows the best way to watch the game is on the biggest screen in your house. If you have select smart TVs or a compatible streaming device you can watch Super Bowl LIV for free, and Fox is making this the first Super Bowl ever broadcast in 4K.
The Apple TV 5th Gen, plus 4K models of Roku and Fire TV devices, can also use the Fox Sports app to stream Super Bowl LIV. These devices will get the broadcast in 4K, which should make this one of the best looking Super Bowls ever. You can still stream Super Bowl LIV on an Xbox One or an Android TV with the Fox Sports app, but keep in mind these won't be in 4K. If you're in a pinch you might want to go ahead and grab a cheap 4K Fire TV Stick or Roku Stick so you'll be all set up on Super Bowl Sunday.
PCs and laptops
Sometimes the easiest option might just be to hook your laptop or computer up to a TV and stream Super Bowl LIV. No apps, downloads, or anything else necessary. If that's your plan, simply go to FOXSports.com to stream Super Bowl LIV on gameday, at least in the US. If you're outside of the US like we mentioned earlier, a VPN will get around that hurdle so you can still stream Super Bowl LIV for free.
This option also works on smart devices, so if your TV has a functional browser or you just really don't want to download an app, you can get away with the website, too.
OTA and live TV
If streaming the game just doesn't sound like your thing, no worries, you can still watch things the old-fashioned way. As long as you get your local channels through a cable or satellite provider you can simply tune in to Fox on February 2nd to watch the game. If you don't have cable or they don't offer your local channels, just grab an antenna! It's a simple upgrade you can make to your home theater to pick up a ton of free channels, including games like this.
You can also use something like Hulu or YouTube TV, if you're streaming live channels. Many of those services now offer local channels, too, effectively replacing something like Comcast or DirecTV for many of us.
Streaming in 4K UHD
For the first time ever, Fox will be broadcasting the Super Bowl in 4K. You'll need a compatible device for this, however. We'll break down exactly what will and won't work for 4K streaming here. Also keep in mind that the game will generally only be streamed in 4K, not broadcasted; you won't be able to get the higher resolution using an antenna or your cable provider, with few exceptions. Verizon's Fios TV One set-top box, for example, is one of the only options for getting a 4K broadcast of the game.

As you can see, you're going to be slightly limited on how many devices you can stream Super Bowl LIV in 4K. The newest Apple TV and 4K Roku and Fire Stick devices will work, although the Apple TV won't be able to stream in HDR. You'll get an SDR stream instead.
But if you already have a 4K Fire TV Stick or a 4K Roku TV stick or box, you're in business. You won't be able to catch the game in 4K on Android TV or on your smartphone, and using a browser won't be a good option to get around that. The browser also isn't supported on very many connected devices, either, so if you're rocking a Samsung TV or PlayStation 4 as your primary streaming device, I wouldn't count on that working come February 2nd.
Also keep in mind that 4K HDR streams are a little more demanding on your home network. You're going to need a pretty decent internet connection (Fox recommends 25Mbps, at least) and a router that can handle the traffic. I'm pretty partial to eero, but any higher-end router should be fine.
Halftime show and everything else
Like every year, there's a lot of other interesting stuff surrounding the game itself. The commercials are always a pretty big hit, even for non-football fans, and the halftime shows can be pretty entertaining. The NFL has booked Shakira and Jennifer Lopez for this year's halftime show, and Fox will be airing the season 3 premiere of The Masked Singer immediately after the game's over.
