At MWC, Lenovo didn’t position every tablet as a laptop replacement.
The Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 has a much clearer audience: students and learning workflows. Instead of trying to be everything, it’s designed around reading, note-taking, and comprehension, and the hardware exists mainly to support that.

AI learning features take centre stage

The tablet is the first to ship with Lenovo’s system-level Qira assistant. That matters because it isn’t just another floating chatbot.

It integrates directly into study tools:

  • automatic lecture transcription
  • highlighted text summaries
  • AI explanations
  • organised notes generation
  • translation and writing prompts via keyboard shortcut

The idea is reducing friction between reading something and understanding it.

Rather than opening three apps and copying content back and forth, the tablet processes it in line.

Display and hardware

To support long reading sessions, Lenovo focused on comfort:

  • 13-inch 3.5K PureSight Pro display
  • Dolby Vision
  • optional matte anti-glare version
  • quad JBL speakers with Dolby Atmos

Under the hood is Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, paired with a large 10,200mAh battery and 45W charging. The hardware is strong, but deliberately not gaming-tier. That’s intentional; battery endurance and readability matter more than peak GPU numbers here. That being said, there's more than enough grunt to run your favorite game without a hitch.

Pricing and availability

Expected to start at $419 in North America starting July 2026, Lenovo's Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 will be an intriguing alternative to Samsung's Galaxy S11 Plus.

Verdict

Rather than trying to be a laptop, Lenovo has given the Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 the productivity tools to be truly useful while still offering an excellent streaming and gaming experience.

That narrower goal actually makes it more interesting — because the AI features solve a real workflow rather than just adding yet another generic assistant.
