Serious and cold, Seele's personality fits her dangerous profile; a key member of Belobog's Underworld group, Wildfire.
Wielding her scythe with swift proficiency, none dare challenge her in Honkai: Star Rail. If you're among those lucky enough to pull for her in-game, you might need some insight on how to properly build her as the Underworld's Grim Reaper.
Seele Best Build

One of the earliest characters introduced in Honkai: Star Rail, Seele is a fearsome damage dealer capable of clearing out multiple enemies in quick succession.
In fact, many consider her among the game's best characters, especially when she's built around the right stats, Relics, and Light Cones. In our view, this is how the perfect Seele should look like in-game:
| Character | Best Cavern Relics Set | Best Planar Ornaments Set | Best Light Cone |
![]() Seele | ![]() (4-piece) Genius of Brilliant Stars | ![]() Rutilant Arena | ![]() In the Night |
Seele's kit heavily plays around her Talent, Resurgence, where she gets a free turn after defeating an enemy. Depending on the gear and team composition, you can even get her to move up to 4-5 times in a row!
So, getting her Attack, Critical Rate, and Critical Damage as optimal as possible gives you the most value out of her overall playing style.
Seele Alternate Light Cones

In the Night is unanimously the most effective Light Cone on Seele. However, getting it is another headache entirely.
As such, you might want to consider alternatives that can give her nearly the same damage output as well, or even better depending on your gearing stats. Here are some incredible options:
| Light Cone | Effect(s) |
![]() Cruising in the Stellar Seas | Critical Rate increased by 8% – 16% If an enemy is at or less than 50% HP, the Critical Rate is increased by another 8% – 16% Upon defeating an enemy, Attack is increased by 20% – 40% (2 turns) |
![]() Subscribe for More | Basic Attack and Skill damages are increased by 24% – 48% At maximum Energy level, both damages are increased by another 24% – 48% |
![]() River Flows in Spring | Entering battle, Speed is increased by 8% – 12%, and all damages are boosted by 12% – 24% Effects are dispelled after being hit (restored at the end of the next turn) |
Each of these can be run for different scenarios and specs, meaning Seele is a very versatile and player-friendly character! Just remember to prioritize her Attack, Critical Rate, and Critical Damage respectively.
Seele Alternate Relics

Although the Genius of Brilliant Stars might definitively be the most powerful Cavern Relic set for Seele, others can also be paired with her depending on your general team strategy.
Here are a few examples:
Balanced Damage Build
| Cavern Relics Set | Effect(s) |
![]() (2-piece) Genius of Brilliant Stars | (2-piece) Quantum Damage increased by 10% |
![]() (2-piece) Musketeer of Wild Wheat | (2-piece) Attack increased by 12% |
With these 2-piece sets, you can still focus on increasing Seele's damage output (Quantum and abilities) to score those extra turns via Resurgence.
| Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
![]() Rutilant Arena | Critical Rate increased by 8% If the Critical Rate is at 70% or higher, Basic Attack and Skill damages increase by 20% |
Supplementing Seele's damage-per-second (DPS) potential is Rutilant Arena‘s Critical Rate increase, particularly when you can get more from item substats fairly easily.
Attack-Speed Build
| Cavern Relics Set | Effect(s) |
![]() (4-piece) Musketeer of Wild Wheat | (2-piece) Attack increased by 12% (4-piece) Speed increased by 6% and Basic Attack damage improved by 10% |
If your Seele's Attack and Critical stats are already promising, you can try prepping her with more Speed too, and this set is ideal for it.
| Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
![]() Space Sealing Station | Attack increased by 12% If Speed is at 120 or higher, Attack is increased by another 12% |
Without any gear, Seele's base Speed is already remarkably high (115 Speed), so getting the maximum 24% Attack buff from Space Sealing Station should be no problem at all!
Damage-Speed Build
| Cavern Relics Set | Effect(s) |
![]() (2-piece) Genius of Brilliant Stars | (2-piece) Quantum Damage increased by 10% |
![]() (2-piece) Messenger Traversing Hackerspace | (2-piece) Speed increased by 6% |
A more experimental build, combining these 2-piece sets keeps her Quantum Damage and Speed afloat while getting more Speed from her gear stats to achieve the following Planar Ornaments' benefits.
| Planar Ornaments Set | Effect(s) |
![]() Firmament Frontline: Glamoth | Attack increased by 12% If Speed is at 135/ 160 or higher, all damages are increased by 12%/ 18% |
Despite a stricter Speed requirement, Frontline: Glamoth promises both Attack and overall damage improvements to Seele's encompassing kit, making it a worthwhile investment!
Seele Best Team

Amongst all the characters in Honkai: Star Rail, Seele is simply one of the scariest in terms of their DPS ceiling. That being said, she's also quite squishy, balancing her stats to avoid her being too overpowered (her kit is already OP enough).
So, she still needs ample support and protection to let her unleash carnage on the battlefield. These are a few team compositions that fit her playstyle:
Focused Burst Team
![]() Sparkle | ![]() Silver Wolf | ![]() Luocha |
Honkai: Star Rail‘s newest member, Sparkle, fits perfectly into this team, giving buffs to Seele's damages while setting up Advanced Forwards and more Skill Points (SP) to use.
Silver Wolf debilitates enemies immensely for Seele to one-shot weaker ones while Luocha prepares multiple heals to keep everyone alive.
Glass Cannon Build
![]() Bronya | ![]() Tingyun | ![]() Lynx |
Albeit being a bit riskier, this Seele team helps her dish out insane single-target damages thanks to Bronya's and Tingyun's combined Attack, Critical Damage, Advanced Forward, and Energy regen abilities, among others.
Lynx aids in healing everyone, though Seele should be her focus during a fight.
Weakness Break Team
![]() Ruan Mei | ![]() Fu Xuan | ![]() Natasha |
Although not implied, Seele can also be an effective Weakness Breaker against Quantum-type foes. By having Ruan Mei at her side, her Quantum Damage penetrates enemies' Toughness meter effortlessly.
Fu Xuan and Natasha are there to provide support, both in terms of tanking incoming damage and continuous healing.
Overview

Seele is a fun and easy character to play with, letting you build her based on the simplest stats to look for: Attack, Critical Rate, and Critical Damage.
Going through her kit, you'll see why other stats don't matter as much.
Skills
| Skill | Effect(s) |
Basic Attack Thwack | Deals 50% – 110% Attack as Quantum Damage Toughness Damage: 30 Energy Generated: 20 |
Skill Sheathed Blade | Speed increased by 25% (2 turns) Deals 110% – 242% Attack as Quantum Damage Toughness Damage: 60 Energy Generated: 30 |
Talent Resurgence | Instantly becomes empowered after defeating an enemy using Basic Attack, Skill, or Ultimate (receives an extra turn) Empowered/ buffed state: – Attack increased by 40% – 88% (1 turn) Resurgence doesn't apply when defeating enemies during the extra turn |
Ultimate Butterfly Flurry | Immediately becomes empowered, increasing Attack by 40% – 88% (1 turn) Deals 255% – 459% Attack as Quantum Damage Toughness Damage: 90 Energy Cost: 120 Energy Generated: 5 |
Safe to say, the best way to utilize Seele is to make her the strongest assassin-type character on the field, letting her deal the finishing blows to enemies for her to continue her empowered/ buffed state's streak.
Traces
| Trace | Effect(s) |
Nightshade | Reduces the chance of being attacked by enemies when HP is at or less than 50% |
Lacerate | While empowered (via Talent or Ultimate), Quantum Resistance Penetration is increased by 20% |
Rippling Waves | After using a Basic Attack, the next action is Advanced Forwarded by 20% |
Her three most important Traces make her even more appealing, allowing her to dance around foes with glee.
However, she can still benefit from her other Traces' Attack, Critical Damage, and Defense increases depending on her gear stats' shortcomings.
Eidolons
| Eidolon | Effect(s) |
Level 1 Extirpating Slash | Critical Rate increased by 15% when the target's HP is at 80% or lower |
Level 2 Dancing Butterfly | The Speed boost from Seele's Skill can stack up to 2 times (a total of 50% Speed increase) |
Level 3 Dazzling Tumult | +2 Skill Level (maximum +15 Skill) +2 Talent Level (maximum +15 Talent) |
Level 4 Flitting Phantasm | Regenerates 15 Energy upon defeating an enemy |
Level 5 Piercing Shards | +2 Ultimate Level (maximum +15 Ultimate) +1 Basic Attack Level (maximum +10 Basic Attack) |
Level 6 Shattering Shambles | Seele's Ultimate inflicts Butterfly Flurry onto the target enemy (1 turn) Butterfly Flurry: – Upon being attacked (by Seele and allies), suffers bonus Quantum Damage equal to 15% of Seele's Ultimate damage – Triggers Resurgence only if Butterfly Flurry‘s effect deals the finishing blow after Seele's attack (not from allies' attacks) |
Seele's Eidolons are quite amazing, and you might be tempted to spend for Stellar Jades to pull for her dupes during her special Event Warps when available.
Regardless, you can still build her without them, starting by getting her Relics and Light Cones right away!
