MediaTek 5G

Zhao Ming, the President of Honor's business unit, has confirmed that the Huawei owned company will be moving to MediaTek's 5G chipset after the US trade ban was announced.

Ming said that Honor are looking to strengthen their relationship with MediTek and will be using their 5G chipsets for some of their phones.

Even though Huawei own Honor, it feels like another strike against the parent company at the moment. The battle between the US and Huawei looks set to continue so moving to MediaTek 5G chipsets seems like a sensible solution for Honor with their future phones.
