Samsung has been fairly hush hush on Galaxy Fold sales figures, but now at CES 2020, they're giving us a look into what first-gen Galaxy Fold sales actually look like, from 2019.
The Korean tech giant's CEO, DJ Koh, says that, even after the early fiasco, the company sold between 400,000 and 500,000 Galaxy Fold smartphones.
It might not seem like a large number considering the scale of Samsung; however, with the phone sitting at $2,000 a pop — double the price of a regular flagship smartphone — those numbers aren't bad.
The details that Samsung didn't provide was what markets contributed the most to those sales numbers.
$2,000 is quite a chunk of money to swallow, at least as far as smartphones go. That said, Samsung's next Galaxy Fold, rumored to be less than $1000, should see significantly better sales numbers.
