After the excitement and curiosity of Samsung unveiling the Galaxy Fold during the Galaxy S10 launch back on February 20th, and then coyly hiding it behind a shiny glass enclosure during MWC 2019, the folding smartphone is finally up for pre-order in the US. If you have a spare $2,000 lying around that is.
Once you've received the $2,000 from selling your kidney in order to get the required cash, you can head straight over to Samsung.com to pre-order the Galaxy Fold, which is available exclusively with AT&T or T-Mobile. Speaking of T-Mobile, the uncarrier has announced that the Galaxy Fold will be available to purchase online from April 25th and in selected outlets the day after, with freebies such as Galaxy Buds and a carbon fiber case thrown in.
The Galaxy Fold isn't the only folding smartphone to be announced this year, Huawei's Mate X boasts a rather different design as well as 5G connectivity, although that phone is only slated to be released later this year. For the moment, at least, the Galaxy Fold is your only option if you have the prerequisite cash to spend and you just can't bear to wait.
