The Honor 5X is finally available in Canada, but under a new name: the Huawei GR5.

We're not quite sure why the name was changed for Canada specifically. Huawei is probably just trying to make a name for itself in the region. Unfortunately, it'll probably be more confusing than actually doing any good. Either way, the handset will be called the Huawei GR5 in Canada.

The Huawei GR5 is virtually the same as the Honor 5X. The specifications are the same, and the only real differences you'll see is branding. If you're not sure what to think about the handset, be sure to check out our review by Talk Android's very own Peter Holden.

Those who want to pick up the handset in Canada can head on over to Rogers. It's available at the Canadian-based carrier for $0 down on two-year contract. Alternatively, you can purchase the handset outright for just $375.

As a quick refresher, the phone features a beautiful 5.5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 616 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a mighty 3,000mAh battery. If you're looking for a budget friendly handset with a premium feel, the Honor 5X is definitely the way to go.
