So, you live in Canada and want to get your hands on a Samsung Galaxy Tab, eh? Well, thanks to Rogers and Bell, you'll be able to do just that. Samsung has announced they will be offering the Android 2.2 tablet in Canada later this year, but have given no indication as to exactly when, or for how much.

Not on purpose but I switched my Galaxy Tab with the one from my brother in the Netherlands, popped in my Canadian provider SIM card and I can make calls, send text messages, have wifi and a lot more apps.

How come that we North Americans allow all providers forming cartells (forbidden by law) to let us screw up over and over again?
Dear consumers,
Order this little unlocked device somewhere in Europe, go to your provider, tell them a story that you need a data SIM card, a $20 / month or something like that. (Not a phone SIM card) plug it in and you are good to go.
I’m sure the pore provider store sales person has no clue that there is absolutely no difference between a data SIM card and a phone SIM card, it has even a regular phone number on it.
You get this number from your Galaxy Tab by entering *#123#
Activate your tab by calling the support department of your SIM card provider. After been pushed from a call center in India to a service department somewere in North America you card will be activated. Tataaaaaaaa
You can call, text, the who package, no patronizing at all, you can enjoy real freedom.
If you have bought one here and you are frustrated about missing the functionalities that makes the Tab a real nice useful device, go to xda-developers dot com site, go to the forum site, register and over 1,000,000 forum members will tell you how to unlock your device and install European firmware. (read the instructions 8 times)

yeah , right , the only place you can get this neat little device is true a telco , who basically try to force you into a 3 year data plan that you DONT need , i’m a rogers client , and when i told them i just wanted to use my hero data plan , they answered nah , cant do that u need another data plan , hey ROGERS do i get another pair of arms and hand to be able to use both at any given time ?
