Lenovo Announces Two New Android Devices: IdeaPad S2 10 Tablet, and S2 Smartphone

It’s shaping up the be one heck of a week as Lenovo announced today a new duo of Android devices. They are the IdeaPad S2 10 Tablet and the S2 smartphone. The tablet will weigh in at less than 1.5 pounds and boast the following specs:

  • 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8960 dual-core Processor
  • Lenovo’s Mondrian (custom version of Ice Cream Sandwich)
  • 10.1-inch 1280×800 IPS Display
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB/64GB Internal Storage
  • Wifi and 3G Connectivity
  • micro USB, micro SD, Micro HDMI ports
  • 5MP rear camera and 1.3MP front facing camera
  • Integrated keyboard dock also available

The Lenovo S2 smartphone has the following specs:

 

  • 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 dual-core processor
  • Lenovo Magic 3.0 UI (Gingerbread, surprising it’s not ICS)
  • 3.8-inch 800×480 TFT display
  • 8MP camera and .3MP VGA front facing camera
  • 512MB RAM for devices with 8GB internal storage
  • 1GB RAM for devices with 16GB internal storage
  • Micro USB port
  • HDMI and MHL Connectivity
  • 1500mAh battery

The s2 is said to have a secure version of the Linux kernel that will protect your personal data. For the time being these devices will be seen in China, but with the potential success of these devices we will probably see them over here on this side of the pond. Even though CES hasn’t officially started it’s off to a booming start. Stay tuned!
