How-To: Force the new Facebook layout on your Android phone – the easy way

Dying to have that slim, sexy new Facebook UI on your Android phone? Well, although Facebook is slowly rolling the new look out to select Android phones, you can actually force your Facebook app to check back with Facebook’ servers. All you have to do it go to settings > applications, find Facebook, force close, and clear the cache. That’s it! Now start Facebook up, and viola… new UI! Be sure to let us know how it goes in the comments.

Nothing changed. Samsung Infuse 4G. Even deleted and reinstalled. Sorry.

I can confirm that it works on the Galaxy S2

    Doesnt work

I went to Menu > Settings > Applications but it doesn’t show a list of applications, it shows Quick lauch, Manage applications, etc.

In Manage applications, Facebook is not listed.

But I found out that I can launch the application launcher, hit menu, then hit Manage applications, it shows me a bigger list of apps, including Facebook.

After completing the instructions, the layout looks the same, as far as I can tell.

Yep same here, didn’t work and I knew what the instructions meant.

It’s probably because they don’t write their own articles.

    I’m guessing it’s a “Copy & Paste”.
That’s why I always find spelling errors, poor instructions, etc. in their posts.
